HOW DOES TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

During a laser tattoo removal procedure, the operator guides a laser over the area of the tattoo. Unlike a laser pointer that produces a continuous beam of light, tattoo removal lasers produce pulses of light energy.

Each pulse of energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the tattoo ink. As the tattoo ink particles absorb the energy, they heat up and then shatter into tiny fragments. Then, over the weeks following treatment, the body’s immune system flushes the tattoo ink particles away from the location, lightening the appearance of the tattoo. Each laser treatment breaks down more and more of the tattoo ink until none remains.

GOLD STANDARD TECHNOLOGY

All tattoo removals are completed using the industry gold standard Medlite C6 laser. Our Q-switched lasers allow for multi-colour spectrum tattoo removal.

Will my tattoo be completely removed?

For most tattoos, Yes! We use the most advanced Q-switched laser technology available for multi-colour spectrum tattoo removal; almost every tattoo will be completely removed. In rare circumstances where poor quality inks were used, injected by unqualified tattoo artists using incapable machinery or multiple layers were applied, tattoo removal may prove difficult and may require other treatments.

Will my skin return to normal?

Yes! Skin returns to normal in almost every patient. A lightening of the skin (hypo-pigmentation) may occur but is usually transient and will resolve itself in the following months after your treatments are complete.

How long do I wait in between sessions?

Each tattoo removal procedure should be performed every 6-8 weeks. This provides adequate timing for ink to be cleared by the body’s natural physiological processes and skin to heal.
